The Federation of Aerospace Enterprises in Ireland (FAEI), the Ibec group which represent the aerospace industry, has welcomed the removal of the air travel tax from April 2014.
Mark McAuley, Director of the FAEI said: “The air travel tax was not only a disincentive to travel, it also sent all the wrong signals to international airlines who were considering developing flight services in and out of Ireland.”
He concluded: “The end of the air travel tax will be welcomed across the aviation industry. Ireland is an important player in international aviation and it is vital that government policy reflects this.”
